“How about a travel business that knew
where everyone wanted to go?”
John
Battelle from his book “The Search”
It would be fair to say that you would know where everyone
wanted to go if they visited, say,
www.skiaustria.com. You would also be safe in assuming what
travelers wanted to do when they got there. Does it not follow then
that if you were selling travel services to or in Austria that you
stand a good chance of business loss if you were not represented?
| What we
are referring to is “targeted media," which is perfectly evident in
ATN’s Austrian Travel Network. The most popular domain, in
this core section is
www.skiaustria.com. In season this domain alone generates more
than 100,000 impressions per month. |

This and
the other domains that comprise the Austrian sub section of sites
represent perhaps the perfect example of specific targeting. As a
result, consumers know what to expect when they log on and travel
suppliers trust ATN to reach a precise audience, one that shows
more than a passing interest in visiting Austria. Success for
everyone concerned is the desired and most often achieved outcome.
Admittedly 100,000 monthly impressions is not a wildly huge number
in the grand Internet world. It is though, important to note that
every visitor is interested in Austrian winter sports destinations.
The targeting is perfect and results to advertisers, positive. All
statistics are authentic and verifiable by two credible sources.
As such
the domain and the complete Austrian network are in a unique
position to sell Austrian incoming holidays. The business model of
ATN allows for marginal capitalization on that obvious sales
opportunity. ATN income is earned primarily by selling advertising
to those selling to or benefiting from people visiting Austria.
These businesses have something to sell to those considering an
Austrian visit and it is they and the visitor who benefit.
Those
benefiting from Austrian incoming travel include mountain or city
resort destinations, tourism offices and tour operators serving
them. In addition ski schools, sport shops, golf courses and
interested national and international companies are appealing
prospects. Restaurants, shops, and guides anyone and everyone that
has something to offer visitors to Austria would do well to be
featured on The Austrian Travel Network.
The
Austrian Travel Network is an offshoot of Euro Ski Magazine.
Between the print and on line versions we have provided
information about Austrian resorts since 1978.
In
addition to Ski Austria the Austrian Travel Network has a
number of other domains. The visitors and page impressions to these
other domains and indeed resorts within the domains are not included
in the figure above. They are separate and available upon request to
interested parties.
These
come with two possibilities; first, the domains directly related to
Austrian incoming travel (listed above). Second, those placed in
other sub sections; the latter are related indirectly either by
location, season or activity. There is extraordinary potential to
develop year ‘round business with positive results. |
